As we enter the season of Lent, let us lift up our brothers and sisters in Sudan’s Nuba Mountains. In the face of ongoing war and with little international recognition or aid, God continues to work powerfully through Sudanese believers who remain steadfast in their witness to the Gospel.
In Acts 17 the Apostle Paul took the Good News about Jesus and His Kingdom into the very heart of the great city of Athens. Today, believers in the Diocese of Kadugli in Sudan’s Nuba Mountains share the Good News in the bustling market of Andulu. They visit homes, hospitals, prisons, and football pitches, sharing God’s redemptive story.
In January, over 600 people from the Muslim and African Tribal religions heard the Gospel. One woman, pictured below, shared, “I am one of the luckiest among the Muslims because of what I heard from your group. It is the first time I’ve heard this, and I am so blessed. Please don’t stop doing this to reach my friends.”
Recently, a top government official and senior leader in the SPLA rebel forces in the town of Abu-Hashim declared his faith and devotion to King Jesus. Below is a picture of his baptism ceremony.
Please pray for our Sudanese partners as they live, work, and bear witness to Jesus’ Kingdom among their communities (Galatians 6:9).
Pray…
- That more seeds of the Gospel would be sown in the Nuba Mountains.
- That these seeds would fall on good soil (Matthew 13:23), and that the Lord would send His rain to help the roots grow strong.
- For unity, strength, and growth among the Nuba Christians as they care for their neighbors and communities.
